Shear Grace Grooming Policies & Client Agreement

Welcome

Thank you for choosing Shear Grace Grooming! My goal is to provide a calm, loving, and safe grooming experience for your pet. As a home-based grooming salon, appointments are one-on-one and focused on quality care and low-stress handling.

By scheduling an appointment, you agree to the following policies and terms.

Student Groomer Disclosure

Shear Grace Grooming is independently owned and operated by a student groomer currently continuing education and hands-on training in professional pet grooming.

While every effort is made to provide safe, compassionate, and quality grooming services, grooming results may vary based on coat condition, pet behavior, and experience level. By booking an appointment, clients acknowledge and accept that services are being provided by a groomer in training and understand that grooming styles and finishes may not always meet show-quality or breed-standard expectations.

Safety, honesty, and the comfort of the pet will always take priority over cosmetic perfection.

Health & Safety Policy

For the safety of all pets:

  • Dogs must be current on rabies vaccination.
  • Sick dogs, dogs with contagious conditions, or dogs with fleas/ticks may be refused service.
  • Senior pets or pets with medical conditions are groomed at the owner’s risk.
  • Grooming can expose pre-existing skin, ear, or health conditions that were hidden under the coat.

If I discover any health concerns during the groom, I will notify you as soon as possible.

Matted Coat Policy

Matted coats can cause pain, skin irritation, bruising, and hidden injuries. In severe cases, shaving may be the safest and most humane option.

By agreeing to grooming services:

  • You authorize Shear Grace Grooming to remove matting as necessary.
  • You understand that de-matting can cause stress or discomfort.
  • You acknowledge that shaving a matted coat may reveal skin irritation, sores, hematomas, or coat changes that were previously hidden.

Additional fees may apply for excessive matting.

Behavior & Aggression Policy

The safety of your pet and groomer comes first.

If a dog becomes aggressive, extremely stressed, or unsafe to handle:

  • The groom may be stopped at any time.
  • Partial grooming charges may still apply.
  • Muzzles or safety restraints may be used when necessary.

Clients must disclose any history of biting, aggression, anxiety, seizures, or behavioral concerns before the appointment.

Accident & Emergency Release

Although grooming is performed with extreme care, pets can occasionally experience stress, reactions, cuts, nicks, quicked nails, or other accidental injuries during grooming.

In the event of an emergency:

  • Shear Grace Grooming may seek veterinary care if the owner cannot be reached.
  • The owner accepts responsibility for veterinary costs unless caused by gross negligence.

Appointment & Cancellation Policy

  • Please arrive on time for appointments.
  • Late arrivals may need to be rescheduled.
  • Cancellations should be made with at least 24 hours notice when possible.
  • Repeated no-shows or last-minute cancellations may require a deposit before future appointments.

Pick-Up Policy

Pets should be picked up promptly after grooming is completed.

Because this is a home-based salon with limited space:

  • Extended stay boarding is not available.
  • Late pick-ups may result in additional fees.

Photography Release

Photos and videos of pets may be used for:

  • Social media
  • Website content
  • Advertising and educational purposes

Owner information will never be shared publicly.

Clients may request that their pet not be photographed.

Satisfaction Policy

My goal is for you to leave happy with your pet’s groom. If there is a concern:

  • Please contact me within 24–48 hours of the appointment.
  • Minor adjustments may be offered when reasonable.

Because every dog tolerates grooming differently, results may vary based on coat condition, behavior, and grooming tolerance.

Liability Agreement

By booking services with Shear Grace Grooming, you acknowledge that:

  • Grooming carries inherent risks.
  • You have disclosed all known medical and behavioral concerns.
  • You agree to hold Shear Grace Grooming harmless for conditions that are unavoidable during normal grooming procedures.

I’m Sandi

Welcome to Shear Grace.
Shear Grace Grooming was inspired by the grace of God that has guided my life and work. I am a stay-at-home wife and mom to two toddlers, and our home is also filled with the joy (and chaos!) of our three Poodles.

I run an in-home grooming salon where dogs are cared for one-on-one in a calm, low-stress environment — never rushed through a busy back-to-back schedule. My focus is always gentle handling, quality grooming, and building trust with each dog.

My long-term goal is to use a portion of the income from my services and educational resources to provide free grooming for severely matted dogs in need, helping them find comfort and a fresh start.
