One of the quiet blessings of grooming from home is the time I get to listen and learn while I work. As I brush, trim, and care for each dog, I often have an audiobook playing in the background — usually stories of faith or Scripture itself.
Recently, I finished listening to The Hiding Place by Corrie ten Boom**, and I haven’t stopped thinking about it. Hearing the story of what their family endured during the Holocaust — and the way they trusted God in the smallest, daily moments — moved me deeply.
What struck me most wasn’t just the large miracles, but the quiet, steady ones. The protection. The provision. The strength for one more day. God working in ways that seemed small in the moment, but were enormous in impact.
It makes my own life feel simple in comparison — and that’s not something I say lightly. Motherhood, marriage, building a business from home — these things stretch me. But listening to stories like Corrie’s reminds me that God is present in the ordinary too. He works in my grooming room just as faithfully as He worked in that hiding place.
And for that, I am deeply grateful.
